A week of misery in nursery

I ve got five kids. None of them ever stayed at the nursery as babies. Yes muaz and sarah were once sent to a nursery for few months but they were toddlers and were able to speak and walkabout then. Maryam unfortunately had to go through the experience. I sent her to the IIUM Educare after her first birthday. Unfortunately the experience for her and me were not great. She was unhappy up to day 5 at the nursery. All I can say is that Educare had good staff, unfortunately I think they are overburdened, especially those looking after the babies. maryam was there with other 8 babies ( and 2 carers). The two staff who managed them hardly had time for themselves. In that 10 x 15 sq feet area, the babies roam around, many with running nose (and of course makan hingus sendiri..). I hardly hear any of them laugh. They either cry or were quite. Apart from basic needs attended too, I dont see any other stimulating activities. As for Maryam? She didnt drink much of her milk (most babies there ar...

A Joyous day indeed

A year's gone by, How time has flown, We can't believe How Maryam's grown! She's such a joy And so much fun, Oh my! Our baby's Turning One! Family Ties Are precious things Woven through the years, of laughter, love and tears. Family ties are cherished things forged in childhood days, by love of parents deep and true, by tradition, by family ways. Family ties are treasured things and far though we may roam, the tender bonds with those we love still pull our hearts toward home. Opah hugs and Opah kisses, Hot oven cookies and holiday wishes, Attics with treasures of children grown old, Stories of magic and princes so bold, Oceans of patience and rainbows of love, A bright ray of sunshine sent from above, Opah stirred childhood with rich, golden days, Touching cucu's life in so many ways. When shadows are dark, They reach through the night, The love of a Opah shines like a light. Thank You all, Opah, makngah/Pakngah, maklang/ Pa...

More Incentives please..

I think specialist in the government hospital should be given additional incentives, especially so in areas where it involve hands on procedures like in surgery, O & G, orthopedic. For each operation done post-office hour they should be given additional incentives say RM200 per case. But I m sure, whenever we ask for extra payment, there are always people out there who would say that we are being selfish..and should serve full with dignity and compassion..Yeah yeah yeah.. For those who are not aware a specialist/ consultant are paid a mere RM150 per call which I think is ridiculous considering the job they perform. I remember when I had laparoscopic cholecystectomy done a few years back,in private hospital, the bill was about RM8000 for a one night stay, about 1 hour pre-op clinic visit and about 1 hour operation time. My DH must be very rich now considering the number of lap chole that he had performed during his nine years tenure as a surgeon, if he is in private. Today, for ...

Hey! Where s the doctor?

While I m typing this entry, my kids are preparing themselves to go out. Its half past one and our stomach are grumbling. Before DH went to work this morning, I told him that I ll go out with the kids to have lunch and wont disturb him. He just said. " Call la bila nak keluar". Yup theres uncertainty in his voice. I dont mind. I know his work schedule is %&@#..DH has been in this hospital for about 5 months and compared to his previous work schedule this is 'bad' I would say. In Kuantan he ? never come home before 5.30..but here coming home by maghrib/ Isyak is the norm. If he can come home any earlier, its luxury... Specialist on-call in this hospital, I believe, is 'worse' than many housemen in many parts of Malaysia. With 10 calls per month its just like my on-call list 15 years ago in HKL. And if you think specialist call means dangling their legs at home watching football, you better knock your head several times on the wall. Specialist call mean...
